Spring break came a little early for me, as Kyle and I headed to South Lake Tahoe this past weekend. Between his crazy work schedule and my job and school, our time together is mostly spent watching Friends on Netflix. We were craving snow and leisure and so we played hooky from life and went up the mountains. The first night was spent at the casinos, where Kyle won over $1000 bucks off of slots... and I lost all of mine hahaha. Luckily for that, our one-night trip turned into two. The second day was spent hiking around Emerald Bay. Kyle was determined to show me a frozen lake he discovered once, so we hiked 4 miles uphill only to find it snowed over. It was still quite the adventure and we got to walk hand in hand back down that mountain with the most beautiful view of the lake. The next bit of the trip was spent shopping and eating junk food until we decided to head home. Thanks to El Nino, our 2 hour drive down the hill ended up being an 8 hour crazy road trip in a snow storm. All of the cars that surrounded us were plowing into the sides of the road, all I can say is thank god for 4-wheel drive.
As ambitious as we both are, sometimes we just need to stop and enjoy the world around us. Even if it's just two hours away from home (or 8 haha) always find time to take a break.
